Morphiens Species Description

       Morphiens are a species of intelligent slimes.

Appearance: Their appearance varies from individual to individual,due to each one having a unique color and their ability to change shape at will, but there are a few defining characteristics, they are protected by a membrane=like covering that, while flexible, is almost indestructible. However the membrane can "melt" if the Morphien needs it to. Morphiens are also semi-transparent and have no internal organs except for a clear rubbery esophagus and stomach. Likewise they lack any external organs other than a make shift mouth.

Planet: Their home planet, Morphos, is a medium-sized, volcanic planet with few prevailing forms of life. The forms that do survive are usually either nigh indestructible like the Morphiens or have fairly short lifespans. Morphos's orbit exists within an asteroid belt as well, causing meteor showers and and unusual phenomena such as eclipses to be normal parts of life.

Diet: Morphiens are generally a fairly peaceful race, however they are highly carnivorous and have occasional, but normally controllable, urges to eat other beings alive. On top of that, Morphiens have a very slow, thorough, and PAINFUL digestive process, which, due to their transperancy, can be easily observed from anyone.

Culture and (general) Religon: Morphien's have a very artistic culture, they enjoy music and painting, although it's unknown how they are able to hear or see. Their religon on the other hand is fairly disturbing. Morphiens as a whole worship a a being called "The Great Devourer." A strange beast that supposedly feeds by absorbing entire races to add to itself. Morphiens are split on what the Devourer looks like, some descriptions suggest it is an enormous Morphien, others a giant beast similar to a wolf, and some say that the Devourer has no physical form at all.

Scientific Advancement: Morphiens are a fairly advanced race, due to the large amount of alien debris that falls to the planet's surface after unfornate space-farers crash into the asteroids surrounding Morphos. Morphien's have developed several things quite useful to them, such as faster-than-light travel, and large laser defense systems.

Interactions with humans: Morphiens aren't quite sure what to do with humanity yet. although the arguments asicly fit into three categories: some Morphiens elieve they should avoid contact with humans, others believe interactions with humans could beneficial for both races, and a fairly small number believe that humans should be treated as cattle.

A few Basic Do's and Don't's:

Do: Be courteous if you meet a Morphien. They find manners pleasing and will likely be more friendly with you.

Don't: Aggravate a Morphien, they'll likely eat you.

Do: Offer food. Morphiens like to eat, especially things they've never had before.

Don't: Attempt to shake hands with a Morphien. Morphiens generally only have physical contact in their mating habits.

Do: Play music if they ask. Usually if they ask it means they need something to distract them from one of their carnivorous urges.

Don't: Offer them a drink, Morphiens and liquids don't mix well. (Bad for you more than them though)

MOST IMPORTANTLY: Never, EVER, fight with a Morphien, they're more or less immune to anything you can throw at them, and they can eat you with any part of their body.
